ICE Merit Award Success

The ICE East of England Merit Awards recognise excellence and achievement in civil engineering projects throughout the region.

The team at London Gateway Port Access Road and Bridge received a Merit Award in Team Achievement. The scheme was also Highly Commended in the Physical Achievement Category. Working for VolkerFitzpatrick, Tony Gee has completed the preliminary and detailed design, including temporary works and construction support services for the port access road and a 60m long two-span steel-composite road bridge.

The Hitchin Flyover was also successful on the night as the scheme won Merit Awards for Physical Achievement and for Team Achievement. The scheme included detailed design of a new 850m long grade-separated junction which carries trains over the main line.
