Dawlish sea wall officially reopened

The recent completion of the final phase of repairs to Dawlish Sea Wall was celebrated on Friday 14 August with an event for the public. Officially opened by Newton Abbot MP Anne Marie Morris at 12 pm, the public are now able to walk the full length of the walkway between Dawlish and Dawlish Warren.

Following the damage caused by the storms of February 2014 the “orange army” have been working tirelessly to repair the railway, rebuild and strengthen the sea wall and carry out cliff stabilisation works. Tony Gee was Network Rail’s designer for the repairs, read more about our involvement here.
