What attracted you to work at Tony Gee?

As a career I’ve always wanted to work for a company which was international and delivered innovative engineering designs and did not restrict me to specific types of work and this is exactly what Tony Gee demonstrated to me.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

What I enjoy most about my job is being part of a team. Tony Gee is about how a team can help each other to achieve a common goal. My job allows me to push myself to my limit, not once have I looked back since I joined.

What has been the most rewarding moment for you since working at Tony Gee?

The most rewarding moment for me was being given the title of Rail Coordinator Engineer. My role involves working with the Rail Directors to ensure the health and safety process within the rail department is managed and complies with the Network Rail Sentinel Scheme.

Project wise it is being part of a £6bn Government investment in rail i.e. the Thameslink programme, I am the main independent design checker within Tony Gee for the biggest station redevelopment in the country, London Bridge Station. Having checked the structure from ground up, this project has technically enhanced my understanding and appreciation for design. The project has provided me with great client interaction and has set me many new challenges in my career. Within the London Bridge Redevelopment, I am proud to have been the checker for one of the biggest continuous reinforced slab in the world. What makes this project even more interesting is how the station remains fully operational at all times to minimise disruption yet twenty nine bridge decks are going to be installed which support 15 train tracks.

How has your career developed since being at Tony Gee?

I started here 6 years ago when I was a student. I graduated in 2012 and worked for Tony Gee as a Graduate Engineer, two years on I have been promoted and am now a competent Design Engineer. One of the benefits with working with Tony Gee is that they push you towards Chartership.

What I love most about working at Tony Gee is the comfort of being able to approach more senior engineers if I ever need guidance or advice.
