Gwangmyeong city is the location for a privately funded velodrome, a principal aim of which is to satisfy the Koreans love of sporting competition. The stadium has a capacity of 30,000 and has a plan shape of an ellipse 179 m by 133 m.

Tony Gee provided full construction engineering and site supervision services for the roof structure. The roof acts as a dome and comprises a perimeter tension ring, a central compression section and interconnecting trusses.

Tony Gee also undertook the detailed design of all the temporary works including the foundations, jacking and support towers, as well as advising the contractor on erection sequences and specific support arrangements for structural sub-assemblies.
