Harburnhead will be a 22 turbine windfarm located approximately 4 km south of West Calder, in West Lothian, Scotland. The turbines will be up to a maximum 126 m (to tip) in height, will have an installed capacity of 51.7 MW, and will be operational for the next 25 years. On completion, the windfarm will generate enough electricity to power the equivalent of 31,000 homes and is expected to contribute over £3m to the local community.
Tony Gee acted as the Engineering Consultant on the project and was responsible for the detailed design works associated with the Harburnhead Windfarm. This included the design for the B7008 North Junction Improvements, onsite access tracks, 22 Turbine hard standings and compounds earthworks design. We also provided geotechnical and site support for the project and the architectural and structural design for a new substation on the site.
