Tony Gee was initially employed to undertake a feasibility study into the viability of upgrading the train servicing facilities at Haymarket Depot to facilitate the new fleet of trains that were in the process of being delivered.
During the study Tony Gee developed a scheme for the construction of a new depot building and track layout as an alternative to the scheduled piecemeal enhancements. This improved the operational efficiency of the depot resulting in an improved business case.
On completion of the feasibility study Tony Gee was then employed to undertake the contract administration of the design and build contract. This included the preliminary design of the proposed works and obtaining Network Rail Approval in Principle for all the disciplines – structures, mechanical, electrical and permanent way.
