Hochtief Construction Ltd
End Client:

Tony Gee completed the Multidisciplinary Design of the new station at Stratford, which provides two longer platforms suitable for operation of three car trains. With the high demand increase to travel to and from large sporting events, this design has made travel smoother.

There were four major structural elements to the work including twin viaducts supporting the tracks and island platform (which were cast in-situ), the station’s architectural canopy roof, the pedestrian link bridge providing access to the existing station complex and the footbridge which crosses the central line to provide access to the old platform. Prestressing strands were used as additional reinforcement to achieve a more economic design.
