The new passenger terminal at Heathrow Airport proved to be one of the largest engineering projects undertaken in the UK.

Hailed as a new landmark for London, T5 is characterised by open space and natural light. The main terminal building, referred to as Concourse A, is crowned by a distinctive waveform roof and at 390 m by 165 m it is one of the largest single-span structures in the country.

Tony Gee assisted with the construction process including evaluation of the structural stability of the superstructure during erection, local strength checks during installation of large equipment packages, and providing on-site temporary works coordination.
