ALBA Potline 4 – Aluminium Plant Raw Material Handling Building


Within the overall project contracts awarded to Klöckner Industrie-Anlagen, there was a new 13,500 sq m Anode Rodding Shop, Bath Treatment facilities, refurbishment of the existing Anode Rodding Shop and a total upgrade of the Raw Material Handling systems including modifications to the Marine Loading facility. All of this doubled the capacity of the smelting plant.

Tony Gee provided the complete civil and structural design and detailing for the following: Anode Rodding Shop, analysis and modifications for existing Anode Rodding Shop, 45m high Bath Treatment Tower including silos. Airlift towers and pits, 5,000 tonne and 12,500 tonne silo supports, airslide bridges, conveyor bridges, access towers, marine store, loading silos, storage building with loading hoppers, substations, furnace building, PLC and MCC rooms.
