Chris Burton to chair Technician Apprenticeship Consortium

Chris Burton has been elected as the new Chairman of TAC.
Tony Gee’s Business Development Director Chris Burton has been elected as the Chairman of the Technician Apprenticeship Consortium (TAC).

TAC, founded by the Association for Consultancy and Engineering was created to bring together engineering consultancy firms and enabling them to meet their business needs via recruitment and training of technician apprentices.

Speaking about his appointment Chris said: “The development of engineers and technicians has long been a personal passion of mine. The consortium will continue its vital role in nurturing a talent pipeline, encouraging a wider pool of people to enter the industry and increasing the opportunities for young people at our member companies. I can’t wait to get started.”

Chris will be succeeding previous Chairman Graham Nicholson, former Executive Managing Director at Tony Gee.

Reflecting on his time with TAC, outgoing Chair Graham said: “It’s been a real pleasure to work with the consortium’s committed companies over the last six years. During this time, we have developed and delivered new technician and degree design apprenticeships and I’m pleased to leave the consortium in the safe hands of Chris, who I know well as a colleague at Tony Gee. He will ensure that TAC continues the vital work of bringing talented apprentices into our industry at all levels.”
