Tom Glovehew named new ICE North West Chair

The ICE is currently celebrating it's 200th anniversary, with the North West region hosting iconic projects such as the newly constructed Mersey Gateway

Senior Engineer Tom Glovehew has been appointed the new ICE North West Chair for 2018/19. Tom will be taking over from Alan Williams and will be working closely with Emma Antrobus, ICE North West Director, in delivering the business plan for the region.

Speaking about his appointment, Tom said: “This is a great time to be Chair of ICE North West. We have already achieved so much in terms of getting the news out to a wider audience about the civil engineering profession. There will be more activity to come as we continue our ICE 200 celebrations.

I’m also keen that we continue to shine a light on the importance of equality, diversity and inclusion in the region as well as promoting the pivotal role of the North as a whole, via the Northern Powerhouse agenda and ICE’s own Northern Infrastructure Strategy.”

Tom’s new role and responsibilities will involve representing and supporting the 6,000 strong community of civil engineers in the North West, raising the profile of civil engineering and co-ordinating the region’s various events.

He will also be representing his region at future UK Regional Affairs Committee meetings.
