Design of concrete superstructure
Christiani Morrison Joint Venture
End Client:
The Scottish Executive

Dornoch Firth Crossing is an incrementally launched concrete box girder multi-span viaduct. Due to the sensitive nature of the area, the design, in particular the superstructure profile was subject to the approval of the Fine Arts Commission.

The bridge has an overall length of 890 m over 20 spans and the contract was awarded after a lengthy Design and Construction competition. Tony Gee’s efficient design of the superstructure is attributed to close liaison with all parties from the outset.
