Kendrick Sixth Form and Faraday Science Block

Reading, UK

Kendrick School is a comprehensive school with 200 students in the current Sixth Form, set to rise to 250 once the new facilities are complete.

The design and construction services have been procured under the South East Centre of Excellence (SECE) Framework Agreement for Major Schemes and Programmes of Work. Tony Gee was commissioned to design the structure of the sixth form building and support spaces within an existing enclosed courtyard (Project Faraday).

The Sixth Form is a three-storey building and was designed to achieve a BREEAM rating of “Very Good” to meet Reading Borough Council’s Sustainability Design and Construction supplementary planning guidance, and assessed against the BREEAM for Schools criteria.
