Maidstone Grammar School for Boys
Kent, UK
A new three-storey teaching block and a separate refectory building have provided additional facilities at Maidstone Grammar School for Boys.
The teaching block comprises a steel frame with in situ concrete floors. The curved roof construction to the rear extended down to ground level uses a stressed skin metal troughing profile.
The refectory was constructed using a steel frame, and includes exposed cellular beams. A mezzanine floor has been provided, suspended by metal hangers from the steel frame.
