Supporting Young People to Broaden Their Horizons

Through its Social Value Fund, Tony Gee and Partners contributed £500 towards travel costs for pupils from St Roch's Secondary School participating in the Malawi Leaders of Learning Programme.

The funding helped ensure that more young people could take part in this unique educational and cultural exchange in Malawi, where they supported learning in local schools, visited community projects, and gained a deeper understanding of global challenges and opportunities. By helping to remove some of the financial barriers associated with the trip, the project was made more accessible, regardless of participants’ financial circumstances.

Sarah Leipnik, Social Value Manager, said: “We are proud that our Social Value Fund could help make this life-changing experience accessible to more young people and support the development of the next generation of global citizens”.

The experience provided valuable opportunities for personal growth, enabling participants to develop confidence, broaden their perspectives, and build skills that will benefit them in their future education and careers. It also reinforced the transformative role that education can play in creating opportunities and changing lives.
