Stonecutters Bridge

Stonecutters Bridge straddles the Rambler Channel at the entrance to the Kwai Chung Container Port, Hong Kong and with a span of 1,018 m, is one of the longest span cable-stayed bridges in the world.
Tony Gee was appointed for the independent check of all the temporary works associated with the project including the deck lifting equipment and temporary falsework for back span construction. There were also a significant number of Contractor’s design items to be checked such as the permanent deck access gantries, the lateral bearings and the steel box dehumidification system.
Tony Gee also had engineers on site with responsibility to certify that the temporary works construction was being undertaken to the drawings.
