Tony Gee was involved in assisting with the construction process including evaluation of the structural stability of the superstructure during erection.

Tony Gee was involved in assisting with the construction process including evaluation of the structural stability of the superstructure during erection, local strength checks during installation of large equipment packages.​ The main terminal building is crowned by a distinctive waveform roof and is one of the largest single-span structures in the country.

​Tony Gee also provided an engineer on site for two years to coordinate all the temporary works of the individual sub projects, carry out reviews and inspection, and provide a co-ordinated overview of all the works at any one time and had carried our design checks of the foundations and framing to control tower.
